Welcome to Ellwood Education
Unlocking potential
Specialising in diagnosing children with dyslexia and adults with specific learning difficulties. Our thorough pre-16 and post-16 assessment processes also consider the signs and symptoms of neurodiversity.
Let us help unlock your unique strengths and potential.
-
Formal Assessments for Children (9-15)
Getting a formal assessment for your child can provide a comprehensive understanding of their learning profile. The assessment will cover handwriting, spelling, writing and reading skills, numeracy, cognitive ability, and general underlying ability.
-
Formal Assessments for Students (16+)
You can undergo a diagnostic assessment if you are studying for GCSEs, A’Levels, or pursuing higher education. This will give you insight into your strengths and weaknesses and develop effective study strategies to support your learning.
-
Access Arrangements
Access Arrangement Assessments are shorter than full assessments and are not intended to diagnose dyslexia or Specific Learning Difficulties. They do not usually assess general ability.
Access Arrangements may include extra time, a reader or scribe, a laptop and/or supervised rest breaks for formal examinations.

Whilst I was initially anxious about my child being 'assessed' or 'diagnosed' the process was smooth, seamless and surprisingly enjoyable for my daughter. Margaret is great with children and we now have an action plan to help my daughter succeed.

My son is now thriving, thanks to Ellwood Education. He has so much more confidence in himself and recently passed his exams with flying colours - although, more importantly, with far less stress! We couldn't recommend Margaret highly enough. Thank you.

I've been living my life thinking I was a failure or 'stupid'. Now, thanks to the process of understanding myself better, I am able to see that I've just been a square peg in a round hole for years! It's such a relief to know my strengths and understand why I've struggled up until now.
